Founded in 1990 as Motafra - Construction Company and Carpentry Ltd. , the company dedicated to the execution of work carpentry, construction of infrastructure and small buildings.

Gradually the company expanded business to other areas of activity within civil construction works, building and accepting contracts with larger dimension.

In 1998 the company's name changed to Motafra - Civil Construction and Public Works. Lda.

The company's rapid growth permitted a strong implementation in Cascais.

Its multidisciplinary nature, competence and professionalism, allowed the company gaining major importance in infrastructures building, carpentry, wood business and to the building industry for public and private entities.

In mid-2000, the company was already one of the leading construction companies having as main customers C.M Seixal, C.M Évora, C.M Grândola, C.M Santiago Cacém, C.M Barreiro, C.M Montijo, C.M Almada, C.M Cascais among many others.

A bet on a market facing the construction of luxury homes stresses from 2004 mainly in the region of Cascais. This led to getting more and more potential customers.

Despite the difficulties civil construction business was facing, the company managed to overcome the socioeconomic turbulence that followed the years 2008-2009 and with a great investment and ability to adapt to new conditions, the company invested in new competences as far as house construction is regard, opening a new and strategic vision for the company.
